Where is the dictate button?

The dictate button is the microphone icon, and where it sits depends on the tool. On phone keyboards it is on or near the space bar area. In Microsoft Word and Outlook it is the Dictate button on the Home ribbon. On Windows, press the Windows key plus H to summon dictation anywhere. In Google Docs it hides under Tools, then Voice typing.

So where can you do voice typing? Almost anywhere a cursor blinks, but each place has its own button, its own rules, and its own quality.

The alternative is one mic that follows you: a voice keyboard puts the same dictate button in every app on your phone.

That is what voice to text in any app means in practice.

WriteVoice turns your speech into clean, formatted text in any app. Speak up to 4x faster than typing.
