What is the shortcut key for dictation?
The shortcut key for dictation on Windows is the Windows key plus H, which opens voice typing in any text field on Windows 10 and 11.
On Mac, press the microphone key on newer keyboards, or double-press the Globe key, the default, configurable under System Settings, Keyboard, Dictation. On iPhone and Android there is no key combo: tap the microphone on the on-screen keyboard. In Word and Outlook, Alt plus backtick toggles the Dictate feature on Windows.
To activate dictation mode reliably, the shortcut is only half the story; the mic permission and dictation setting must be on first, or the shortcut opens nothing.
If you write at a computer all day, PC dictation software turns that shortcut into a writing tool.
WriteVoice turns your speech into clean, formatted text in any app. Speak up to 4x faster than typing.
