How do I turn on voice typing?
To turn on voice typing, open any app you can type in, bring up the keyboard, and tap the microphone icon. Speak, and your words appear as text.
If there is no mic on the keyboard, enable it once. Android: Settings, System, Keyboard, pick Gboard or Samsung Keyboard, and switch on voice input. iPhone: Settings, General, Keyboard, Enable Dictation. Windows has it too: press the Windows key plus H in any text field.
To activate voice to text that punctuates and formats for you, the built-in mics will not get you there; they type words raw. That difference decides whether you edit after every sentence or just hit send.
A dedicated voice typing app is the raw-words fix.
WriteVoice turns your speech into clean, formatted text in any app. Speak up to 4x faster than typing.
