How do I turn on voice typing on my iPhone?
To turn on voice typing on your iPhone, open Settings, tap General, then Keyboard, and switch on Enable Dictation. From then on a microphone icon sits on the keyboard, bottom right.
Tap the mic in any app, speak, and your words appear as text. Say punctuation out loud, like comma or new paragraph, because Apple only adds some of it automatically.
If you are trying to turn talk to text back on after it vanished, the same toggle is the fix, and Screen Time restrictions are the usual reason it disappeared. Dictation runs on-device for supported languages, so it works offline too.
For dictation that also cleans up your grammar and filler words, try WriteVoice on iPhone.
WriteVoice turns your speech into clean, formatted text in any app. Speak up to 4x faster than typing.
