Can Microsoft Word transcribe a meeting?

Microsoft Word can transcribe a meeting through its Transcribe feature, which lives in Word for the web under the Dictate menu. It records live or accepts uploaded files, separates speakers, and drops the transcript into your document. Upload minutes are capped monthly on most Microsoft 365 plans, around 300 on business tiers and far higher with a Copilot license.

The difference between Dictate and Transcribe in Word: Dictate types your voice as you speak, one speaker writing a document. Transcribe processes a conversation with multiple speakers after the fact.

Limits worth knowing: browser only, wav, mp4, m4a, and mp3 files, 200MB max, and accuracy that trails purpose-built tools on messy audio. For an occasional meeting inside an M365 shop, it is convenient.
