Can ChatGPT do speech-to-text?

ChatGPT can do speech-to-text within its own walls. Voice mode holds spoken conversations, the mobile app transcribes what you say into the prompt box, and uploaded audio files come back as text. The recognition underneath is strong.

What ChatGPT cannot do is convert voice to text where you actually write. It is not a keyboard, so it cannot type into your email, your messages, or your documents. The workaround, dictate in ChatGPT, copy, switch apps, paste, costs more time than typing for anything short.

Use ChatGPT for speech-to-text when the destination is ChatGPT. For every other app, the mic has to live in the keyboard.
